I worked at Anchorage School District (Less than a year)
Overall, as an hourly employee, the school district was a great place to work. Coworkers were friendly and easy to get along with. Benefits were great. There are great training opportunities at the Ed Center. The positions I've had here (admin assistant and T.A.) are great positions - but are definitely for people who are independent and curious workers.
On the ground training in the schools was minimal. Getting to know the position is fast paced and challenging.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Anchorage School District (Anchorage, AK) in September 2014.
there was a written test which included math and reasoning skills, also a money changing test. I was left in a room to do the test by myself, but the money changing test was done with play money in a pretend cash register.
