I worked at Ann Taylor part-time (Less than a year)
Ann Taylor was by far the best retail place I ever worked at. The job duties are doable and can be fun depending on who you are. I personally loved being in the style room and styling the clients.
My only complaint about working there is my hours. One week I would have a lot of hours and then next week not so many.
Advice to Management
Give equal hours to all employees. It's only fair.
I applied in-person. The process took a week. I interviewed at Ann Taylor (Tulsa, OK).
The interview process with extremely quick and painless. The co-manager asked me a couple questions about my work ethics and background in retail. She also gave me some customer service scenarios. I then spoke with the manager about similar topics. I had checked Glassdoor prior to going into my interview and saw that many of the applicants were asked to put together outfits. I was expecting to have to do this, but they didn't ask me to. My biggest tip is to dress fashionably. You don't necessarily have to wear LOFT, just wear LOFT-looking things . Style yourself however you think is cute and you'll be fine.
