    I have been working at Apple Leisure Group full-time (More than 3 years)


    ALG is a great place to work. There are challenges like anywhere else, but most days I find myself leaving work with a ton of energy and a smile on my face. That is partly due to the people I work with, and partly due to all the opportunities that ALG provides to people willing to reach out and grab them.

    Since the shake-up in management last year, there are people at the top of the Vacations arm of the organization who really care about the employees, take the time to visit the different offices and listen, and ask the tough questions. They are focused on building culture and transparency, not just profit.

    Now that the merger-associated layoffs are behind us, it really feels like we are all building a new organization, and those of us who are proactive can play a big role in creating positive change. There are endless opportunities to take on more responsibility, step out of the confines of your job description, and grow in your role.

    Unlike companies where everything is very stable and opportunities for advancement open up once a decade, here you don't have to wait for someone to retire to move up the ladder. I personally have been given opportunities beyond what I could have anticipated and incredible exposure to the leadership team. If you are motivated and willing to work hard for what you want, this is a great place to be.


    Second half of 2018 and first half of 2019 has been a difficult time. Between a big merger that involved some layoffs and big changes in how we work, and lots of (undeserved) negative media about one of our top selling destinations, this has probably been the hardest time in the history of this company. However, we are now on the other end of that period and beginning to recover and rebuild.

    The benefits package is about average for the US, which is not great. The lack of maternity/paternity leave is an abomination. We do have employer-sponsored short-term disability that new mothers can take instead, but that's no excuse. We should do better.

    Establish a more transparent process for career advancement
    Establish a structured onboarding process with company overview, cultural immersion, and ongoing job skill training not just for people at call center, but for all employees

    The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Apple Leisure Group (New York, NY).


    The process is very extensive. You interview with no fewer than 5 people and the process takes months. Started with a phone interview with future manager. Then an in person interview with the future manager. Then an interview with the HR manager, then you interview up the chain VP, company President etc.
