Our firm's founders recognized this and encouraged all employees to get involved in charities and non-profits that support the communities in which we all live and work. Their enduring vision is a vital part of Aprio's culture. Today, our team serves as directors of non-profit boards or volunteers around the Southeast, investing their time and sharing their experience with hundreds of organizations.
In addition to individual efforts, Aprio goes above and beyond as a firm to serve the community. Every year, Aprio closes the office for an entire day for our team to volunteer together as a company. Recent volunteer days have included creating snack packs and new mom kits at the City of Refuge, brightening up rooms at the homeless shelter Gateway Center and working with the Ronald McDonald House. Aprio was also instrumental to the launch of the Georgia Accounting Food Fight and tied for first place in the Large Firm by Points category in 2014, the inaugural year. We were named Volunteer Partner of the Year by United Way in 2013, and in 2014 we received their "Excellence in Campaign" award for the accounting industry. Our team believes strongly in the importance of community involvement and proves their commitment anew each year.
