I worked at Apriva full-time (More than 3 years)
I was at Apriva for four years and during that time I always had the opportunity to work on projects that I was passionate about. I was able to gain an enormous amount of knowledge in the payment space, especially with regards to EMV / chip cards. I was always provided everything I needed to succeed at the tasks I was presented with.
I had the privileged of working with a lot of really great people and I formed many lasting friendships at the company. I always felt respected by my peers and by my superiors.
No company is all wine and roses, and every place has their quirks. I consider my own experience at Apriva well above average on this front. In a lot of ways the experience you have at a place is what you make of it, and I was provided enough trust and freedom to make a real impact. There are always those who leave with a bad taste in their mouth for various reasons, but for me I can't imagine having had a better place to work these last four years.
I really do not have anything negative to say.
I left the company because an opportunity presented itself to dive deeply into some specific technologies that I wanted to pursue, but Apriva is the kind of company that I would definitely work for again.
Advice to Management
I wish everyone there the best of luck. Thank you for the last four years! Keep pushing forward --
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Apriva (Scottsdale, AZ) in April 2015.
I applied online and in couple days received a phone call from the Talent acquisition specialist. Next day I had a phone interview with the Hiring Manager where I had some basic OOP questions. Two days later I was called on site for a panel interview. The first round was with the Hiring Manager with some logic questions. The second round was with the Director of Software, this was behavioral and technical mixed in a high level perspective. I would say some of these questions were abstract and the way you answer them might be the key in getting hired. The next round was with the development team which had 4 developers and the project manager. I had whiteboard coding and technical questions. The interviewers were cool and jovial. I am looking forward to working with them Overall the process was perfectly planned and streamlined to be professional.
