We aim to give our employees every chance to flourish in their careers and grow as part of a global company

At ArcelorMittal, we believe that an organization is only as successful as the people within it.

We believe in supporting, developing and rewarding those who work for us, at every level. Just as we lead the way in our specialist fields – steel and mining – we also aim to pioneer when it comes to giving our employees every chance to develop their careers and grow as part of the worldwide ArcelorMittal family.

Quality is one of our three core corporate values, and it’s through investing in our people that quality comes to life.

As part of the world’s leading steel and mining company, ArcelorMittal USA is a big organization that offers a wealth of diverse opportunities across many different sectors. Whether you work in production in Pennsylvania or as a purchaser in Indiana, joining ArcelorMittal USA is the start of a journey that, we hope, will lead to a fulfilling, diverse career.

Work with us and we’ll work with you to help you achieve your potential. We operate extensive career enhancement programs that serve not only to ensure that our workforce is constantly learning and improving, but also that members of the ArcelorMittal family have the opportunity to be motivated, to develop and to satisfy their ambition to have a rewarding working life.

While we offer a competitive salary, we also understand that rewards are more than just money

Hard work should be recognized with appropriate rewards. At ArcelorMittal it is our policy to make sure our employees enjoy not just a competitive salary but also a range of other motivational benefits. By choosing to commit to the world’s leading steel and mining company, our employees know that their salary will be maintained at a fair industry rate, and that their prospects for career development and learning will be given high priority.

When it comes to pay, our basic compensation is commensurate with other main players in our industry and other leading multinationals with whom we compete locally for talent. We also reward performance and business success with incentivised bonus schemes, which help to drive a hunger for achievement throughout the company.

But reward is about more than just money. At ArcelorMittal we place great importance on providing other benefits to people who contribute to our success as a group. For those among our workforce keen to travel and experience life in other countries, we encourage mobility. Taking up an overseas position allows individuals to broaden their work and social horizons, to enrich their life experiences, and to embrace career opportunities that may not otherwise be open to them. We have a specialized division dedicated to such opportunities, and to ensure that the overseas adventure runs smoothly.

We also have a large number of schemes and initiatives in place, aimed at developing the skills and prospects of the people who work for us. Our global employee development program ensures that the career development needs of each exempt employee are heard and responded to. And we use new technologies to ensure that all members of the ArcelorMittal family have access to learning and training resources wherever they are located.

With a comprehensive internal vacancy system and priority given to internal candidates, career development at ArcelorMittal can take you in whichever direction you choose – and for those with the necessary desire and commitment, the rewards will follow.

We believe the diversity of our workforce is an asset, bringing fresh ideas, perspectives and experiences in a welcoming environment where everyone has the opportunity to fully participate

To us, people matter. To be a truly international and innovative company, we consider it vital to respect the individuality of every person working with us, and to embrace the opportunities that diversity in the workplace brings.

Diversity and an inclusive workplace are critical to our company and we are taking extensive measures to ensure that the attitudes of openness and inclusivity are embedded at every level of ArcelorMittal.

With a presence in 60 countries, we are a truly global company and we want our workforce to reflect this. Our diversity and inclusion policy spells out our intentions to have a workforce that is reflective of different cultures, generations, genders, ethnic groups, nationalities, abilities, social backgrounds and all the other unique differences that make each of us individuals.

Our Steelworker for the Future® craft training degree program empowers you in two ways: It pays you to earn a degree, and it makes you employable upon graduation.

What's required to apply?
To be considered, you must have a high school diploma (or equivalent). You'll also need to pass a college entrance exam and drug screen. You must be enrolled at one of our participating colleges to participate in the program.

What happens during the program?
The 2.5 year degree program includes four semesters of classroom training at a participating school where you will earn credits towards an associate’s degree in applied sciences. There is also the opportunity for up to 16 weeks of on-site training at ArcelorMittal. During the on-site portion of the program, you'll apply what you learn in class and earn credit toward your degree. You'll also encounter mentoring opportunities – not to mention earning enough in wages to pay for your tuition.

What's in it for me?
As a graduate of the Steelworker for the Future® program, you'll receive an associate of applied science degree as either a mechanical or an electrical technician.

But best of all, you'll have the tools you need to shape your own future. In fact, you could start at ArcelorMittal earning nearly $20 per hour with attractive vacation time, medical benefits, a 401(k) plan and profit sharing. By the third year of employment, you could join the average graduate earning $90,000 annually.

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ArcelorMittal USA.

    Interview

Had a 30 minute phone interview with a representative from HR. They then followed up to setup an in-person interview.

The in-person interview took 3 hours, you spend 1 hour with a director from another group, 1 hour with HR, and 1 hour with the hiring director. My interview was all situational questions.
