Retirement Savings - 401(k) Plan
Assurant offers employees the opportunity to save for retirement through a 401(k) Plan. After completing 30 days of service, employees may contribute up to 50 percent of their eligible pay to their 401(k) Plan on a pre-tax basis, after-tax basis, or a combination of both. Assurant matches 100 percent of every dollar contributed to the 401(k) Plan, up to 6 percent of eligible pay.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Assurant’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) allows employees to purchase shares of Assurant, Inc. stock at a 10 percent discount with funds contributed through after-tax payroll deductions.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than 3 years)
I've been at the company for over 3 years, most employees have long tenures 10-40 years. The company culture is so much like a family. Everyone I have met or interacted with is always eager to help and contribute. I'm very fortunate to have had the bosses that I've had, great professionals and maybe even friends. As we go through our integration with Legacy TWG employees, I feel more and more happy to a part of this organization. Our new family members are also awesome people to work with, great professionals, extensive talent, kind human beings.
A minor downside might be that things are a bit slow to make happen. Our processes from hiring to product launch are sometimes tedious and long, but that's only because we're rigorous in researching and meticulous in deciding a strategy.
Advice to Management
We need more team meetings where we can interact face to face with the people we work with everyday.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Assurant (Westlake, OH).
This interview was with Assurant Labs in Westlake, OH.
After applying online I received an email from HR and we setup a time to speak. At the end of my conversation with HR he setup a technical phone screen for me. The 30 min phone screen involved me writing very small code then answering a lot of computer science related questions. It wasn't anything crazy hard but it wasn't easy. The feedback was positive so I was setup another technical phone screen. In this 60 min interview about half was technical then the other half was time for me to ask more questions. Since I was applying for an iOS position I was asked iOS related questions and swift programming questions.
The initial feedback from HR was positive but my lack of any experience kept me from moving to the onsite stage of the interview process. I was disappointed but my overall experience was still very positive. After interviewing with other companies their politeness and professionalism felt like a breath of fresh air. The interview process was fast and structured. I could tell this was a company run by people with a passion for technology.
