We know how to have fun when we are not working hard! Our open-plan Boston office is situated in the trendy North End district near to the Boston Garden and New England Aquarium. There are views over the river to Cambridge and the modern financial district and some great eateries nearby.

Our location promotes activity!  From having our own on-site gym, subsidized spin classes to onsite yoga and circuit classes there is never a lack of things to get involved in.   If ping-pong is more up your street then grab a paddle for a lunchtime game, or you can chill out by the TV on the sofas in our snug rooms.

Travel Sales Specialist, Boston, MA

Salary: Base Salary of $40,000 rising to $45,000 upon successful completion of the training and induction period + uncapped commissions earned on every booking

We are currently looking for Travel Sales Specialists, also known in-house as Country Sales Specialists, to join the following teams:

  • UK/Ireland
  • Iceland
  • Croatia
  • Africa
  • Japan

The role and responsibilities:

  • In your 2nd week in the role, you will be sent abroad on an adventure packed, all expenses paid, familiarization “Fam” trip for 3-4 weeks to gain on-ground, in-depth product knowledge of the region you will be selling
  • Receive extensive sales and systems training pre and post Fam trip to ensure success and support in the role
  • Work to hit personal sales targets each month as well as work to hit group targets with your close-knit team
  • Handle the full sales and service cycle of a client’s journey the Audley Way and be the main point-of-contact
    • Discover: Follow up on the initial inquiry and work with the client to discover their travel, activity, culinary, and hotel preferences
    • Create: Produce a personalized itinerary that meets their needs and build a comprehensive quote
    • Prepare: Book all hotels, flights, guides, and activities via working with our local partners (GHAs); provide final itinerary and all other necessary information to client before the trip
    • Experience: Ensure line of communication is strong with all GHAs to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience
    • Share: Follow up with the client post-trip to ensure the trip met or exceeded expectations and motivate them to return as a client for a future Audley trip!

Essential requirements:

  • Strong sales acumen and enjoys working towards targets/goals
  • A demonstrated passion for travel – whether you’ve taught English in Japan, backpacked throughout Australia, learned Arabic, or studied abroad in Italy – a passion for travel and exploring other cultures is key!
  • Enthusiastic, confident and polite phone and e-mail manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively and articulately with a variety of different personalities and provide great service
  • Resilient to challenges and setbacks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle several tasks at once
  • No travel industry experience required; we hire from all different professional backgrounds!

    Keep the culture, don't be cheap, employees stay here because we are happy withe the perks and the culture, the more that gets cut away the less incentive to stay.

    I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Audley Travel (Boston, MA) in June 2015.


    The interview process has changed since I was hired in 2015. It was a very intense interview given by three people and it lasted for a few hours. Country and travel knowledge are quizzed as well as sales experience.
