    Software Engineer Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at AuthenTec (Melbourne, FL) in January 2011.

    Interview

They started with a telephone interview where another developer probed my programming experience and knowledge. He must have been satisfied because they flew me in for a full day of 1:1 interviews with programmers, managers, and HR. The hiring manager was not present that day so about a month later they brought me back for another half day of interview. That half day went very smoothly and it finished with a job offer.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked many questions about various problems faced in programming. Some of the questions were very esoteric and it was clear they wanted to evaluate your problem solving skills, rather than you knowing the right answer.   Answer Question
