    Pros

Many opportunities. There are so many ideas that the company can't implement them all. The company understands that there needs to be a work life balance. Management regards it's employees and has always ensured that profits are shared. Meritocracy based organization, if you have a good idea it's likely that you'll be able to see it help the company. Recent acquisition by Citi offers many opportunities for working with other groups.

    Cons

Current purchase by Citigroup has introduced large amounts of bureaucracy. ATD has traditionally been a nimble company that works at being a leader. With the new organization it takes far too long to get anything accomplished.

    Advice to Management

Citi needs to give ATD more flexibility in running it's group. ATD can't be operated like a bank. There needs to be strong leadership in business and technology to ensure that everyone is pulling in the same direction. ATD is filled with some of the smartest people in the business, Citi just has to allow them to do their jobs.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Automated Trading Desk LLC (Charleston, SC) in May 2012.

    Interview

Phone interview to onsite. First they tour you around the building, show you the trading desks and then you interview with all of the traders. Next two interviews with 'higher ups', mine were with the President and Risk Manager. Mostly fit questions. 3 hours long. Some skills test.
