You work your way up from the bottom. Start as a machine builder and work into machine design, team leadership and then you stay in that position for as long as you like.
After you make team leader I don't see much more progress that can be made.
Job monotony doings headlamp jobs all the time gets old but its easy work and really the point of work is to make money so who cares.
Advice to Management
Communicate directly with your young engineers more often instead of expecting them to know what they're supposed to do through their coworkers.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Automation tool company (Cookeville, TN) in March 2014.
Pretty easy going process. You have to go in to talk to the head of HR, and take a personality test. They are great people there. My mistake was that I didn't know that i NEEDED to do a follow up.
