    I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Avago Technologies (San Jose, CA) in February 2016.

    Interview

    Applied through recruiter, phone interview 2 times with Program Manager over period of 3 months. Was called for Onsite Interview in San Jose in a week time. 8 Rounds of interview , lab tour and lunch with 2 Program manager . Was interviewing for 2 groups at the same time. Mixed experience , few engineers didn't wanted me there as their interview round was mostly telling me why I shouldn't join the team and company. They were afraid of cultural mix into their team is what I thought . After talking with them interview spiraled down as I wasn't motivated enough , last few rounds were negative and rude to be specific.

    • My Current and previous job day to day activities and overview of kind of products I have worked on.   Answer Question
    • Block Diagram of a basic industry wide PA Module used in Cellular phone( not from text book).   1 Answer
    • Lots of basic RF Questions. 1) Smith Chart 2) 5 ohm to 50ohm match on a smith chart 3) Loaded unloaded Q and related questions to solve some problems on paper and white board 4) Full matching circuit to be used for particular problem including the values of Passive devices 5) Series to parallel conversion   1 Answer
    • Which equipments to use for certain types of RX/TX tests and how to connect them - draw this on white board and explain everything including what can go wrong . Noise figure measurement and IP3 measurement were asked frequently .   Answer Question
    • How to Modulate and change noise floor of a Spectrum Analyzer , how to tune it to change certain characteristics to test the device . Block diagram of spectrum and vector network analyzer   Answer Question
    • Micro strip line details and how to change characteristic impedance of MS trace . What will you change ? Was also asked to write equations for above question .   Answer Question
    • Source Degenerated LNA input impedance derivation   Answer Question
    • Block diagram of full Transceiver Module ( Transmit and Receive Chain including antenna and BPF with switch is expected )

      After drawing it, questions related to sensitivity of RX chain , it's derivation with equation and after that a mathematical problem , was expected to find the final receiver sensitivity or noise floor to be specific for certain frequency band. After that question related to noise and small signal modeling and how to change gm of a Mosfet to reduce noise floor of previous question . Was expected to draw and complete small
      Signal modeling and then noise modeling and explain the situation .
