I worked at Aviva Canada (More than 8 years)
Fellow workers are great, vacation and benefits are good. Location (Hamilton) is great but they are moving Mississauga way.
Senior managers use to care for workers, now it seems that is not case. Workload is to heavy and expectations are unrealistic. Work / life balance are no longer a priority
Advice to Management
Respect the staff, without the front line workers the company is nothing. The workers are the face and voice of Aviva, they are the only ones that talk to the insured's on a daily basis and they are the ones that either give the company a bad name and reputation or they can give the company a great name and reputation. Stop allowing favouritism and promote people on their skills in the job and not on how well they talk or how well they can suck up.
Be careful moving to Mississauga, Hamilton was a great place as you were the only insurance company in the area therefore the top choice for employment, however moving to Mississauga you are moving where all the other insurance companies have offices so this therefore allows the employees to look at other employment that they would not look at if the office stayed in Hamilton.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aviva Canada.
Applied online, then scheduled phone interview in 3 days(around 20 mins), in person interview next week. They are very nice, asked me some underwriting questions and told me working environment.
