    Product Marketing Manager Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at BANDAI NAMCO (Santa Clara, CA) in October 2016.

    Interview

Like many people who observed past Bandai Namco Entertainment America's employee reviews on Glassdoor, I was very hesitant to speak with BNEA when I started looking for new opportunities. In my next career move, I wanted new challenges, growth and an opportunity to be part of a young team that had big plans for the future. During my phone screen with the hiring manager, I used this opportunity to evaluate and ask relevant questions about the team's goals, competencies and mobile roadmap. Like dating, we were both very thorough to ensure there was compatibility, so we had a couple of follow up calls after my initial phone screen. We discovered we had great rapport and the next step was to meet the rest of the mobile executive team.

The recruiting team did a great job preparing my onsite interview. I received a thorough itinerary with the names (and times) of the folks I'd be meeting with. I had some 1:1 interviews with some panel interviews sprinkled in. Everyone was down to earth and very straightforward with me. The team consists of many successful veterans from the gaming and mobile world, so they're building a very competent mobile team across both Development and Publishing. The team operates like a startup within a larger organization, so everyone plays a huge role in growing the mobile business at BNEA. I really enjoyed my conversations with the team and felt my career goals aligned really well.

One big thing that I appreciate about BNEA is it's very family friendly. When I received an offer from the team, they gave me a few months to transition out of my previous company and spend time with my daughter. I'm very appreciative...and too be honest...not many companies would allow this.

So far...my experience has been great and very different from some of the older reviews I've seen.
