I have been working at BCRA Design full-time (More than 10 years)
Great work life balance, they try hard to take into consideration personal life. Staff seems very highly engaged, especially over the last 4-5 years. Very different leadership approach than before. Much more transparency. HR is amazingly, very accessible, helps leadership stay connected to needs of staff. They have done a very good job of hiring young, diverse talent. Culture is very evident, many good ways to plug in, people very very connected through what they call Skittle pods, everyone belongs to a pod and we do activities as a pod, to get to know each other better. Emphasis on serving our communities.
More of an industry challenge, finding good experienced staff with 8-10 years of experience. They are very open about still developing their core purposes in the work they do.
Advice to Management
Keep hanging in there with the new direction
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at BCRA Design (Seattle, WA) in February 2016.
I had 3 interviews total, a personality test, met with multiple employees ranging from designers to marketing directors, all with varying amounts of experience. I had the chance to visit both firms before excepting an offer. I was able to meet with all of the principles and was asked to take a personality Quiz as the final step. The offer was given to me in person and I responded a couple days later.
