    Senior Associate Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at BDO Digital.

A recruiter had reached out to me regarding the role with a very generic posting. Out of curiosity I decided to have the screening call which was essentially a 30min call which gave me no further information on the role. Despite being approached for the role I had basic questions (is this a professional services or strategic role?) that the recruiter could not answer continually saying the hiring manager would be able to answer with more information.

Additionally regarding pay she was unable to even give me any information about whether my current pay was within their current range. I had mentioned I make 135k on a guarantee and if they were able to be anywhere near that so between the lack of information about the role and pay I declined to continue. BDO seems to have a very wide range of pay for senior associate roles.

All other companies I have interviewed with had been able to say whether they could match or beat my pay expectations since it is not useful for anyone involved to find a large pay discrepancy after several rounds. Or at the very least give any details of the type of day to day work.

Six Phone Interview Tips to Get You to the Next Round

On average, every corporate job opening attracts 250 resumes. 2% of those resumes will be called for an interview. If you've made it this far, congrats! You've got one foot in the door, but in order to get all the way through to that in-person interview, you'll most likely going to have to pass the phone interview first.
