At BOK Financial, we’re proud to trace our roots to a small energy bank founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma over 100 years ago during an oil boom. Today, as a top 25 U.S.-based bank with more than $30 billion in assets, BOK Financial has successfully diversified into a variety of industries, businesses and geographies throughout the U.S. We have banking operations in eleven states, with services throughout the nation, and a full-service brokerage firm, BOSC, Inc., which has become one of the largest municipal bond underwriters in the country. Our wealth management division also continues to grow, offering a full suite of services to individuals and institutions nationwide.
Our focus each day is on meeting the needs of our clients by bringing the right people, services or solutions to the table. We continue to offer the personal touch of the neighborhood bank, with the breadth of experience, resources and products you expect from a regional powerhouse.
We know the challenges our clients face because we’ve faced the same highs and lows over the past 100 years. Regardless of the economic cycle, BOK Financial continues to be a strong and stable company, adapting to ever-changing economic conditions. We work with you, side by side, to help you make the most of your money.
Many people think of their community simply as the place where they live, work and play. We believe our community is our livelihood and serving is more than a commitment; it's the embodiment of our corporate purpose statement — achieving more together.
Our sustained involvement and long-term investments in our communities are important elements of our culture and an integral part of the way we do business. We believe that helping the community also helps BOK Financial stakeholders — employees, shareholders and clients.
We are also committed to responsible corporate citizenship by encouraging our employees to give back to their communities through volunteering their time and talents. We offer several company-sponsored initiatives where our employees can be involved in support of the four areas we focus our giving. Those four pillars include: United Way, economic development, education and basic needs (hunger, housing, basic health care and safety).
All of our employees do their best to help our clients achieve more together. That applies to our bankers and advisors as well as our support services, including risk management, information technology, human resources, as well as sales and other roles within the bank.
You will find hard-working people with varied backgrounds who strive to find the right solutions for our clients’ unique financial needs. Our bankers work hand-in-hand with clients to help them make sound financial decisions. And they are backed up by dedicated employees who ensure system security and accessibility.
By emphasizing the importance of this vision, we reinforce an understanding that inclusive practices lead to higher levels of employee engagement, performance, productivity and positive business results.
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion practices allows us to achieve our business goals:
As an intern at BOK Financial, you will have the opportunity to explore a career in the financial services industry through a full hands-on experience. During the summer, in addition to working on projects, interns will participate in meetings with BOK Financial executives and the “Battle of the Interns” competition. This is an exciting opportunity to work with your fellow interns on an assigned team project where you help develop a recommendation on how to advance our business model.
This intensive training program is an ideal way to begin a career in banking. The program is designed to benefit both graduate and undergraduate students. Our rotational development program is a structured training program that provides you with financial analysis training, systems instruction, professional development courses and a complete overview of BOK Financial. Chosen candidates will complete rotations within their specified track.
Each track ties back to one of our major divisions – Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking, Information Technology and Wealth Management.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BOK Financial in March 2017.
I was contacted by an in-house recruiter for BOK about a position I had applied for. She called me while I was in a meeting at work so I called her back like 20 minutes later and left a voicemail. I didn't hear anything back for over a month. Once she did call me back she apologized for the delay and we had a good 45 minute conversation. It was clear from that conversation they were very interested in talking with me more. That call occurred on a Friday morning, by the following Monday I was scheduled to meet with the hiring manager on a phone interview that Wednesday. We talked and during the conversation he told me they wanted to bring me on site. I was contacted the next morning about scheduling an onsite interview, which ended up being the following Wednesday. Since I was coming in from out of town, they paid for a hotel room the night before in a very nice hotel. The onsite interview as pretty intense with multiple panels of people passing through the room. It lasted from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm with the recruiter taking me out to lunch.
Overall it was a fantastic experience. I agree with a previous poster that says if they are interested in you, they move quickly. From the time I spoke with the recruiter on the initial phone screen to the job offer was exactly two weeks, and it only took that long because we had to wait a few days to schedule my onsite interview when everyone was available. The process moved very quickly and they took care of everything.
