Mission: BWS Education Consulting provides a boutique educational experience to clients in the Central Ohio area and around the world. We offer the best instruction coupled with the most cutting-edge practice materials.
I worked at BWS Education Consulting part-time
Brian and Caitlin (the owners) are an absolute joy to work with. They are very passionate about what they do and are always willing to go above and beyond to help students succeed. This is reflected in the excellent reputation BWS Education has built in central Ohio and beyond. The emphasis on doing everything possible to help students succeed makes BWS Education a very fun company to work for. You truly have the opportunity to impact peoples lives, and few things are more rewarding than hearing from a student who was just accepted into their dream school because of your help.
Other pros include:
•Able to set your own schedule
•Great training and support (someone is always available to answer any question you might have)
•Freedom to innovate and be creative in figuring out how to best help your students
•Owners very receptive to feedback about how things are done
•Very engaging work
•Generally work with each student for a couple weeks to months at a time, so your student load will constantly be changing and you therefore get to know a lot of new people
If you are new to ACT/SAT tutoring (like I was when I started) then there will be a lot to learn at the beginning. This can be a little intimidating at first, but Brian and Caitlin do a great job of making sure you have all the training and tools necessary to succeed. With time and experience things get a lot easier.
Communicating (usually through email) with clients to set up times/locations to meet can sometimes be a pain. However, this is another thing that you become much more efficient at with experience.
BWS Education Consulting has two job openings for part-time ACT/SAT test preparation and academic instructors who can work with high school students in math, science, and writing courses. Extensive paid training is provided. Schedule is flexible; we will work with you to achieve your desired tutoring caseload. Here are the job requirements:
Reliable car transportation
Clean background check
At least a 95th percentile score on a major standardized test (ACT, SAT, GRE) or on our company-administered test
Access to email and cell phone
Able to sit for two hours and stand for up to 4 hours
Able to lift up to 30 pounds
Bachelor's degree and prior tutoring experience preferred
Compensation starts at $25 per hour—instructors are paid as employees, not contractors. To apply, email your resume (with test scores) to email@example.com. Do not call or email our other address. You will receive email confirmation that we have successfully received your resume.
