I have been working at Babylist full-time (More than a year)

Babylist is a great for people who thrive on setting their own direction and are self-directed. The company has been growing quickly which means there are always new opportunities for learning and different types of software that needs to be built.

The entire software team is really talented and everyone has areas that they are deep experts in. Everyone is really great about sharing their knowledge and helping others improve in areas they are not as strong in.

The company is working on several ambitious projects in parallel. This means that it can be difficult to justify spending longer periods of time on launching really polished products.

    Difficult Interview

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Babylist (Oakland, CA) in July 2018.

Telephonic interview, after that one in-person interview and then in-person interview with 5 people. My experience was not good.

My 1st 2 round went well. telephonic was for 45 min, then in person was of an hour... After that, my 3rd round was for 2 hours. They have given a design challenge related to improvement on their current apps. I highly discourage people to take up design challenge from companies who give design challenge related to their own product as I put in a lot of effort in doing research and presented lots of ideas, I saw interviewer taking notes. And I noticed people were highly appreciative of my presentation and one interviewer has said also that I did a good presentation.

    Interview Questions

    • Babylist’s iPhone and Android app product strategy currently lacks focus. It's a collection of our
capabilities, but it doesn't have a clear reason to exist other than offering "on-the-go"
management of your baby registry. With this as a starting point, we’d like you to learn what your process would be to discover, design for and validate the user’s needs/job-to-be-done.   Answer Question
