I worked at Baker Botts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Accessible management makes it easy to get problems solved, but there are certain departments that definitely get more attention and benefits than others. There are been a bunch of good events for the staff recently - mostly due to the new staff members in administration I think!

    Cons

Staff isn't appreciated as much as lawyers; lack of fairness across the board in some departments. It takes a long time for things to change and it can be quite hard to move up the ladder.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Baker Botts (Houston, TX) in September 2017.

    Interview

    Three rounds of interviews.
    1. Phone Interview (25-30 minutes) with HR. Verifying about prior experience and why I'm interested in the firm etc.
    2. Met with three members of the team in a 1 hour long interview. Very nice atmosphere and an elaborate interview asking about everything on my resume and why I'm interested and what I can bring to the position.
    3. Met with the Director and one same team member from previous interview. Interview lasted for about 40-45 minutes.

Overall experience was very pleasant, especially the HR. Very responsive.
