I worked at Bakersfield College part-time (More than a year)
It is a great way to make extra money while getting a degree. You also keep the things you are tutoring fresh in your mind for other classes. It helps you get into the work environment mode before graduating.
If you have a background it will take some work to get to be an employee. They will question and make you feel horrible about your past and question if you can get a job after you get a degree. just keep fighting.
I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Bakersfield College (Bakersfield, CA) in March 2017.
I had two interviews. The first was with a committee of 5 faculty members and consisted of a predetermined set of interview questions and a teaching demonstration. They emailed me the questions about 15 minutes before the interview. The second interview was with the college president. Both interviews were good. Nothing too difficult.
