I have been working at Balfour Beatty full-time
The people that work in my division are great to deal with and most are very hard working. Unusual for a mega company, the leadership actually seems to care about their employees.
It's a mega company so local leadership is beholden to the ideas of upper management that are hundreds of miles away.
What's needed to win a project in terms of staffing and GC cost is rarely even in the same ballpark as what is needed to perform the project. Projects get delayed up front and rarely is there a resulting extension of time. As a result project staffing suffers and the minimal staff that is placed on the project has to pull the work load to make up for these issues.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Balfour Beatty.
Search for position on website and apply online. Have initial Interview with property manager. If called back, Have a follow up interview with regional/corporate employee. Complete drug test and background check. Overall, fairly easy interview process with the proper checks and balances.
There really wasn't anything to negotiate.
Our experts joined the charity Bridges to Prosperity to build a 48 metre suspension bridge in Rwanda. Working in challenging conditions, we replaced the existing, unsafe structure with a sturdy, permanent bridge to connect the community. #expertengineers http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQaCs
