    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Banco Santander New York Branch (Long Branch, NJ).

    Interview

I was initially approached by a phone call from an internal recruiter during the program's pilot phase. In-person interview what scheduled within a week, during which I was interviewed by several branch managers, HR recruiters and the District Executive.
Interview questions were standard sales skills questions and asking for examples sales success stories and of responses to difficult customer situations.
It took about 2 weeks to hear back with an offer, and another 4 weeks of salary negotiations before a start date was actually scheduled.

    Interview Questions

    • Why are you willing to commute so far for a sales position when you already have a job 15 minutes from home?   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I was able to negotiate a $20000 bump on the offered salary as well as my pick of branches.
While the salary negotiations took about a month, we were able to come to an agreement.
