  1. Fraud Operations Analyst Interview

    Easy Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at BankUnited (United States)

I applied for the position and received a call about a week later to interview. It was a relatively short zoom interview with two managers. Just a bunch of questions about my experience and how it would translate to the role I applied for.

The manager was probing me quite a bit. I had direct experience in regards to what the role was asking for (I did something similar for a major bank in the past). It seemed like she was looking for something in particular or specific answers which was a bit offputting. It was giving the impression that my skills were not a good match although my resume was clear (and very detailed) about what I did at my previous job, so a lot of the questions seemed redundant almost as if they did not fully read my resume beforehand.

I was told I would hear something in 1-2 weeks and heard nothing (even after reaching out for a follow-up). I did think it was a bit unprofessional that a company as large as BankUnited cannot even send an email stating they have moved on with other candidates, etc. It was like I was left in the dust.

The manager seemed nice -- I just did not like how there were ZERO follow-ups. First time ever that I have interviewed with a company where this has happened.

I also did not really like how the role stated it was a remote role, but when I asked the manager about it, she stated it was remote "for now". I thought this was a bit confusing. The Miami Lakes office is 45 minutes to an hour from where I live (possibly more with traffic). If office visits were required I would have never applied, or if it was temporarily remote due to COVID-19, it would have been nice if this was included in the job posting. Driving an hour (possibly more with traffic) each way is not feasible for me and I just feel like had that been disclosed more clearly, it would have saved us both time.

I appreciate the opportunity to interview, just a negative experience for me personally. Not sure I would re-apply again to this company. Seems like I possibly dodged a bullet with this one.

How large (in dollars) were previous claims that I have worked in the past -- (even though it clearly stated it on my resume).
