About Baton Rouge General Medical Center
Baton Rouge General Medical Center is a full-service community hospital with 590 licensed beds between two campuses. As the first hospital in Baton Rouge, opening its doors in 1900, Baton Rouge General has a long history of groundbreaking milestones, as well as providing the Greater Baton Rouge community with high quality healthcare for generations.
We continue to identify ways in which the health of our community can be improved through education, prevention and timely access to quality care. Our comprehensive cancer care and heart programs feature specialists, programs and services, and state-of-the-art technology and treatments all under one roof. Baton Rouge General also serves as one of the few burn treatment centers in the South, and sees patients from all over the southern region.
Because every hospital deserves a great medical staff, we’re training current and future healthcare professionals in the latest technology and practices. As an accredited teaching hospital since 1991, Baton Rouge General is committed to exceptional medical education through our School of Nursing, School of Radiologic Technology and our Residency programs: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Sports Medicine. Baton Rouge General is also affiliated with and serves as a satellite campus of Tulane University School of Medicine for students participating in the LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Discovery) Academy program.
Baton Rouge General's legacy is rich, our technology is state-of-the-art, our facilities are outstanding and our quality is top-rated. But it's our people –– a community of compassionate, caring individuals, who set the bar when it comes to healthcare excellence.
We know a career decision is an important, often pivotal, moment in life. So if you're looking to join a team of highly-skilled professionals, we invite you to explore the many opportunities available at Baton Rouge General.
Our special and unique benefits include:
We will lead the region in exceptional patient experiences.
We will preserve and restore health, one person at a time.

I worked at Baton Rouge General full-time (More than a year)
Great leadership, active in the community. Amazing organizational culture
All organizations have their challenges. Any cons that I had found with BRG were base and do not present as valuable.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Baton Rouge General (Baton Rouge, LA) in February 2017.
Quite brief, not a challenging process. Wanted to know my background and what I felt I could contribute to the team. Standard, and there is a mandatory shadowing session before hiring to determine if the fit is a good one.
