Bechtel is a company with incredibly hardworking diverse and intelligent people. The projects are challenging and opportunities are ever present for any individual who wishes to step up and make the commitment. There is nothing that this team of people can't solve or execute
As an engineering construction company, the work is not in one place. You must move where the project is being built. This can be tough on family and work life balance.
Advice to Management
Stay true to the company history and tradition, 120 years of success says alot. Diversified projects and services they can't all be Mega Projects or P3's. Some "curb and gutter work" can lead to new long lasting relationships and business opportunities.
The process took a week. I interviewed at Bechtel (Frederick, MD) in September 2018.
I applied online for 1 of 3 Designer intern positions, each a different discipline. I was bought in for an interview which consisted of a supervisor from the electrical department, plant design department and HR department. I was then asked a handful of simple question about my high school CAD and Architecture experience, and also some basic questions about the company to see what I knew.
After the interview I was called about 3-4 months later and told I got the intern position, I started a few weeks afterwards.
