I have been working at Benchmark Senior Living full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have worked at Benchmark Senior Living for almost four years. So far this has been the best job that I have held, can you tell from the lengthy time investment? I started working here when I was still in my teens, I have grown here as an individual and I must give partial credit to my maturity because of this company. Basically, if you work hard, treat others with respect, come to work with a positive attitude, have good attendance, you WILL succeed. Do not let the negative reviews discourage you from working here, when you start working for benchmark you will have to prove yourself just like at any other job, working for any other company. Always remember that you are there to assist the residents, they are your top priority/concern and you will have a wonderful work experience at Benchmark Senior Living!

    Cons

I believe that Benchmark continues to realize their weaknesses and continues to improve. The most difficult aspect of this job is when you have to keep up the same quality of service when hours are cut, or when others call out. It is important to realize that this is a very team oriented position, and requires people to be consistently reliable.

    Advice to Management

Be more empathetic towards the clinical employees.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Benchmark Senior Living (Detroit, MI) in April 2017.

    Interview

Initial contact was by phone considered to be a screening process for the next step which would be an on-site interview. The interviewer was pleasant, friendly, and easy to talk with. She managed my expectations well and outlined the steps for further interviews. In addition, she was very candid about the position and the role and responsibilities. She was enthusiastic about the company and you could tell that she really believed in their mission.
