A friendly reminder to beware of Santa Strain! Practice safe lifting techniques this holiday season to prevent injury: 1. Do not attempt to lift by bending forward. 2. Bend your hips and knees to squat down to your load, keep it close to your body, and straighten your legs to lift. 3. Avoid turning or twisting your body while lifting or holding a heavy object. Studies show having physical therapy intervention within two weeks of the start of your back/neck pain can lead to a much faster recovery time. And even though we know you'll want to lay on the couch and eat leftover cookies, being sedentary can prolong and increase your pain! #santastrain #physicaltherapy #merrychristmas #happyholidays #ouch
