My Berkshire Story - Kelsey Carter

Kelsey Carter, a born and raised Colorado native, laughingly admits that being so, is a "dying breed". She is a highly active mother of two small boys and refers to herself as a "Summer Coloradan", with the longing to be outdoors hiking or camping. "In the winter, I hibernate."

    Pros

Like a family. Pay is great. Upper management/corporate has a constant presence and truly cares about each and every property.

    Cons

As a leasing consultant, you have to work a lot of weekend. A little more than I would like.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Berkshire Communities in September 2017.

    Interview

I had a total of 3 interviews. My first interview was with HR. Her ultimate goal was to determine if I fit the Berkshire Culture and if my goals aligned with what the company was looking for. My second interview was with the Regional Manager, she wanted to make sure I would fit the property that I was applying for and that I would be able to handle any situation the Berkshire way. My final interview was with the Vice President. We not only spoke about the property and Berkshire but also who I am as a person. All three interviewers were so nice and upfront about what they were looking for. The first interview took about 40 minutes and the other two took a little over an hour.
