I have been working at Betts Recruiting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    +Culture
    +People
+Opportunity for growth and continual learning
+CEO is a strong, transparent, hands on, and inspirational leader
+Strong employee perks and incentives (thanks HR!)
+VP is easy to talk to and very helpful
    +Learn how to network

Betts has been an amazing place to lean and grow professionally. It's taught me how to build and grow my personal and professional network (and the value in doing that). I've learned what it means to be a self starter and own and run all aspects of my own business. I came to Betts as a recent grad and have grown immensely over the last several years. Betts is not for everyone, you need to have hustle and drive to be successful and happy here. You're going to need to have a strong work ethic and discipline to be successful, it won't be handed to you, but you will have the opportunity to earn it if you're hungry enough.

    Cons

+Hiring can sometimes be focused a lot more on culture fit than work ethic
+Not everyone is a team player - reward the people that are

    Advice to Management

+Continue the perks (gym, stocked kitchen, unlimited PTO, etc)
+Keep investing in your tenured people and structure commission accordingly
+Keep bringing in strong leaders from the outside (but still promote the people that are ready from within)

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Betts Recruiting (New York, NY) in June 2017.

    Interview

First completed a phone screen, then completed an email/voicemail assignment, then came in for an interview with 4 employees. Gave constructive, helpful feedback. Very friendly and made me feel comfortable in the office.

Know your worth: How to negotiate compensation at a startup

Have you ever felt you were worth more than you were being paid? I hear you. And, I want you to know that you may never quite feel compensated for your complete worth. That's a conversation to have internally. The number on your paycheck doesn't define your full worth.
