I worked at Black Bear Diner part-time
If you're looking to keep busy and gain experience as a host fast this is the place!
The best hours are in the morning, the restaurant gets super packed, and if one of your fellow hosts either don't show or show up late it's a handful (not worth the pay).
Advice to Management
Hire a balanced amount of gender staff, the amount of females makes it look like there's a preference for females. It feels like there's an inherent preference towards female hosts than males.
Speak with your staff and have direct communication with them.
Stop giving your cooks overtime hours they don't deserve. I've seen cooks washing their shoes while on the clock AFTER being done with their shift.
I applied online. I interviewed at Black Bear Diner (Redding, CA) in January 2017.
A few questions were asked about my current & previous experience. I was able to recall information which was noted on my resume. I was asked questions pertaining to customer service, how I work under pressure, and what my long term goals within the company were.
