  1. Manager Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Boston, MA

    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Black Diamond Networks (Boston, MA) in Jan 2021

The recruiter found my CV online and called to present an opportunity. I requested a job description by email, and agreed that it was a good match. I was one of 7 people selected for an interview. The interviewer called at the agreed upon time, and we spoke over Skype. After a quick introduction, he went straight to 5-10 questions on fundamentals. These questions had no relation to the job description, and after a polite discussion, I made clear to the interviewer that I had a very difficult time responding because I failed to corelate the context of his fundamentals with the job description. The two of us came to a friendly discussion through which we figured out that the interview was designed for another job. We exchanged niceties and ended one of the most awkward and embarrassing interviews for both sides. The interviewer could not identify where the language in the job description came from, while I was puzzled on how to correlate even the most rudimentary question to the job functions.

How are the following statistical parameters defined relative to the job description?
