I have been working at BlackRock Kelso Capital full-time (More than 5 years)
As a partner, your bonus can get into 7-figures in a good year. The compensation is very good, but will always reflect the work you put in.
Incredibly stressful. SERIOUSLY. This job is not for the faint of heart. It requires a lot of meetings and management skills as a partner.
Advice to Management
As an upper management member, this is not applicable.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at BlackRock Kelso Capital (New York, NY) in April 2014.
Found the company through a recruiter. Having read other reviews on here, I had prepped myself for a difficult interview but it seems they have a different Director of Administration now. The interview was relaxed and friendly and the person had clearly prepped and read through my resume because she asked very specific and pertinent questions about my experience and career. In the end, we agreed that the role that was open wasn't a great match for me, but the company sounded good and I would go back to interview for a different role there if something else opened up. I appreciated the focus on my interests and career goals (not just what I could do for them) so that nobody had to waste their time pursuing a poor fit.
