    Pros

The business is healthy and growing, but the company is still in a relatively early stage, so there is a lot of room to influence the future of the product.

The culture is really positive - of course there are the usual growing pains, but no politics and infighting. The founding team is highly transparent and works closely in cooperation with their employees.

The team itself is great - very international and a good mix of senior and experienced people with more junior ones.

    Cons

Company is growing quickly, which leads to a lot of churn in terms of process and organisation - great for someone who thrives in that sort of environment, but less so for someone who wants a clearly defined role and process and doesn't like change.

    Advice to Management

Keep the culture open as it is now, but try to bring a little more stability to the day-to-day process, without locking things down too much.

    Working Student Interview

    Application

The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Blinkist (New York, NY).

    Interview

I was contacted by the team lead responsible for the position I was applying for. I had to complete a small test with questions relevant to the field (I had two full days to submit my answers). Then I was invited to an interview at the office and when I couldn't make it to the initially scheduled appointment because I got sick, I was offered multiple alternative options, which was great, considering my fairly restricted availability at the time. I went through three interviews on two different visits to the office: one with the talent acquisition manager, one with the team lead and one with another member of my team. Later that day, I received an email saying I was invited to the last round, which was a lovely lunch with my future team. I believe we were a match and I got an offer to join the team via email on that same day. The interview process was very clear and well-organized. The whole hiring process lasted about a month, from the initial submission of my application to receiving an offer (NB: I can imagine it's shorter for candidates available on more than one day of the week during the interview period). I am very satisfied with the whole experience and can't think of anything that can be done to improve it. This is a company that takes working students as seriously as full-time employees and that's not something you see very often.
