Mission: We are building an open, accessible and fair financial future, one piece of software at a time.
If you missed the news last week, we have partnered with GV and Lakestar and have secured the highest Series B since Brexit!
Blockchain's own: Xen Baynham-Herd and Lewis Tuff listed in BI's 35 list
Challenge convention. We challenge the status quo and transcend the boundaries of today to create an open financial future that supports the broadest global community possible. We’ve been told that getting to where we are today would be impossible so we decided we were just getting started.
Empower the end-user. Our customers should own their financial future so we empower them to “Be Your Own Bank”. Our users come first.
Sanctify security. Our users’ security and privacy are critical to our success and we will not forsake them in service of our ambition.
Be humble. Be honest. Be human. We build connections with each other and our users by communicating frequently, authentically and openly and we build trust by doing what we say we’ll do. We’re big on accountability and high standards, but not on unnecessary rules.
Delight in the details. We believe we cannot get the big things right if we don’t get the little things right first. Sometimes that makes things harder. Luckily, we’re ok with hard.
We are on a mission to build a more open, accessible, and fair financial future, one piece of software at a time. Our technology is revolutionizing the financial services industry by empowering millions across the globe to authenticate and transact immediately and without costly intermediaries.
Blockchain is the world's leading software platform for digital assets. Offering the largest production blockchain platform in the world, we are using new technology to build a radically better financial system. Our software has powered over 100M transactions and empowered users in 140 countries across the globe to transact. We also offer tools for developers and real time transaction data for users to analyze the burgeoning digital economy.
I have been working at Blockchain full-time
I was looking for a job for over a year, not having been happy with my previous working conditions. I wanted to be excited to go to work in the morning and excited by the company's brand and philosophy. I finally found that with Blockchain! The people are all incredibly down to Earth but also insanely hard workers. The hours are flexible, you receive free breakfast every day, free lunch three days a week and there is a fully stocked kitchen. There is an onsite shower if you work out during the day. The health benefits are the best I have seen through a company in my lifetime so far and there are unlimited paid vacation days. They have regular happy hours and support outside passions. I run a dance company and my boss has repeatedly told me that he is fully supportive of that and if I need time off for it. It is nice to see hard work rewarded so well.
You work until you are needed so it is not a job where you can clock out at 5pm. (People work hard and thats why they are so well rewarded.)
Advice to Management
Every company has room for improvement. For management I would say focus more on the structure of each position. Outlining specific responsibilities for each job and letting it be known to all can make it more clear going in and moving forward what is to be expected from each other.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Blockchain (New York, NY) in December 2017.
Waste of time. The recruiter reached out to me from London, asked some questions, sounded really positive about next steps. She then requested code examples which I provided her with. However, she never even opened my follow-up email which makes me believe that she knew she was not going to move forward before even ending the call. The recruiting process is a MAJOR reflection of company culture. So when a recruiter is dishonest, ghosts you, and is not able to professionally let you down, I think it shows that the company is lacking.
