    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Blommer Chocolate (Union City, CA) in November 2019.

    Interview

Phone with their HR department who was direct but with nice manners. Onsite with the CFO which was a shoddy negative experience. I emailed to their HR that I am still sick with a hoarse voice and asked if the interview can be rescheduled or that I would do a video interview instead. They persisted that I continue through.

The CFO acted like a germ phobe questioning me if I am on antibiotics, making snide comments that I "better not get him sick" and that when I cough, I "better not leave my stuff on his furniture". Talk about insensitive, uncompassionate jerk.

The interview lasted longer than I would have liked with his additional snide comments of every bullet point in my resume. He acted like a know it all with the companies of where I worked and their product lines. I explained what each company does and he snarkily responded back with his ideas of what the company's products are like. He should keep his comments to himself considering he didn't understand or have the experience to work in high tech. All of his experience is in the food/manufacturing industries. Then he berated me for not working in a manufacturing environment and kept saying "you don't have any experience in the food industry". I told him that he should not be wasting his time to interview me if he didn't think I have the food industry experience. In an arrogant manner and trying to outsmart me, he said that he's trying to find reasons within my resume that would be a good fit for the position. There was one bullet point in their job ad that said "manufacturing/inventory background preferred". Not required!

At the end of the interview, he talked so many sentences that they still need to go through so many hundreds of candidates, more phone, video, and possibly onsite interviews with whoever is worthy. He should have been upfront to say that he will not continue with my application as his response sure did indirectly imply that they will not pursue with my application.

    Interview Questions

    • What did you do there?! Be specific!!! Don't tell me that you did full stack of accounting manager duties, did you do accounts payable? Did you enter invoices into the system? Did you do a 3 way match of invoices?   1 Answer
