Blue Buffalo – Why Work For Us?

Love them like family, feed them like family.” ® Everything at Blue Buffalo starts with this simple idea.

We think of our dogs and cats as family members, so we believe their food should be natural and healthy. In fact, this was the sole reason for starting the Blue Buffalo Company. When the beloved Bishop family dog, Blue, faced a variety of health issues, Bill and his two sons set out to create a pet food that was made with only the highest quality natural ingredients—the kind of things a family member deserves. Ten years later we have, in many ways, accomplished what we set out to do—help our dogs and cats live happy, healthy lives. And we’re only getting starte

The Blue Buffalo Foundation for Cancer Research & the Petco Foundation.

The folks at the Blue Buffalo Company, makers of natural, healthy and holistic dog and cat food, started the Blue Buffalo Foundation for Cancer Research when their beloved dog Blue was affected by cancer. The Blue Buffalo Foundation for Cancer Research (BBFCR), through the Pet Cancer Awareness Program, was created to help find a cure for the #1 disease-related killer of our dogs and cats.

I have been working at Blue Buffalo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Blue Buffalo has been one of the best learning experiences of my working career thus far. The company has gone through a lot of change, but it is always with the best interest for pet parents and the Buffs who work here.

The culture is unlike any I've experienced. Filled with passionate, genuine people who like to have a good time while helping the company grow.

Dogs in the office are a MAJOR perk!! What better way to relieve stress!?

    Cons

No cons. Truly one of the best places I've had the privilege to work for, with amazing people who are genuine and care.

    Advice to Management

    Keep positive Buffs!

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Blue Buffalo.

    Interview

Easy. No curveballs. Just play up you are motivated and love pets. Sales growth discussion is a plus. There is no way to evaluated on sales growth due to ecommerce and variability. Company wants those the most motivated and will except low pay. Talk about how to build a solid relationship.

    Interview Questions

    • Tell me about a time questions. They aren't smart people. Just lie and pretend you are motivated and love pets. Sales growth discussion is a plus.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

Definately negotiate! Blue is cocky and doesn't want to pay even close to National salary.
