I worked at Blue Canoe Learning as an intern (Less than a year)
I interned at Blue Canoe for one summer, and the experience was overwhelmingly positive, both because of the team environment and because of the product. I loved getting to work with a skillful team of people with diverse backgrounds in software, and I attribute this as one of the main reasons why I grew so much through the internship. Many members of the dev team are seasoned engineers and bring an element of steadiness to the development process; I thought it was significant to see how the team's atmosphere remained positive through intensive periods leading up to a new release. I also loved how most of the engineers had things they were passionate about outside of work, coupled with being dedicated and hardworking. The product itself is high quality and has received recognition (among others by the Allen Institute for AI) under Sarah's leadership, and there is no shortage of exciting engineering work.
At the time that I worked there the company was very small and had a somewhat cramped office space. The company's size was not an issue for me but may be a consideration for some
