In Hingham, Quincy, and Boston, we provide associate amenities such as sit-to-stand desks, treadmill workstations, company-subsidized healthy cafeteria fare, access to an on-site dietician, and open, collaborative spaces. Read more here.
In each of our three main offices, we provide meditation spaces, yoga and Zumba classes, as well as stretching and strength building workshops. Locker rooms at each office location allow employees to work up a sweat during mid-day exercise breaks, and return to their work duties feeling clean and refreshed.
Paid time off for both parents is a critical benefit to associates with growing families. In 2015, we announced a new parental leave benefit of four weeks paid time off for the birth or adoption of a child in addition to our company short-term disability plan.

Our goal is to help people in every community thrive as healthy and engaged citizens. By supporting programs and organizations that champion healthy activities, healthy eating, and healthy environments, the work we accomplish together will create a lasting impact on every person we reach.
One example of our passion is our annual Service Day. Our associates and senior leaders spend a day immersed in volunteering to help one of our many community-based partners. Additionally, associates have 15 hours of paid time off to volunteer throughout the year with one of our partners as a member of the BlueCrew team.
We are constantly thinking of new ways to provide our associates with outlets to give back to our community. One example is our Skills-Based Volunteer Program, which connects the skills and expertise of our employees with the capacity-building needs of our nonprofit partners. Another example is our Community Garden at our Hingham office that gives associates a chance to exercise their green thumb, and literally enjoy the fruits of their labor.

In 2008, we introduced a payment reform model, called the Alternative Quality Contract, to reward doctors for delivering high-quality patient care, keeping our members healthy, and moderating health care costs.
In 2014, a four-year study concluded that our model works. Currently one of the largest private payment reform initiatives in the United States, the Alternative Quality Contract is now the model for state and national policymakers.
We are constantly on the lookout for new services to better serve our members. By partnering with health care start-ups, Zaffre Investmentsis diversifying our business practices while supporting development of new services to improve our members’ health care experiences.

I applied through college or university. The process took 6+ weeks. I interviewed at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (Boston, MA).
many steps, took two months. phone interview, follow by two in person rounds of meeting with several senior levels. then a case study presentation to a room of 15.
