Blue Cross Is in the Top 10 for Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana was named fifth on the “2016 Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge” list.
The awards program is a project of the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report and the Greater Baton Rouge Society for Human Resource Management. This survey and awards program was created in 2014 to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Baton Rouge, benefiting its economy, workforce and businesses.

Health benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, health and dependent care spending accounts, long-term care coverage and an employee assistance program that provides free, confidential counseling services to employees and their families.
The company pays the entire medical insurance premium for employees who meet the Preferred Premium requirements of our Healthy You, Healthy Blue employee wellness program. The company also pays a portion of the premium for dependent coverage. Employees pay the remaining portion of the premium for dependent coverage through a pre-tax payroll deduction each payday. Pre-tax deductions provide employees with the ability to pay for health plan premiums before any taxes are withheld. These dollars represent a significant tax savings to employees. Health Savings Accounts are available for employees who enroll in the BlueSaverplan. Coverage becomes effective on the first day of the month after you complete 30 days of employment.

Employees at our main campus in Baton Rouge enjoy the benefits of our Wellness Works fitness center, located on the first floor of the Customer Center building. The fitness center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may only exercise on your own time, such as on your lunch break or before or after work. Space and equipment are limited, so the fitness center is only available to employees.

I applied in-person. The process took 5+ weeks. I interviewed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana.
I applied online on September 6 and was contacted by HR on 10/07 to schedule an interview. I interviewed on 10/14 and was told to come in 30 mins early to fill out a paper application. I arrive an hour early and fill out everything waited an additional thirty minutes for the interviewers to come from lunch. The interview went very well I think it was laid back but professional. It was like I was talking to two new people an explaining my life. I was told that I would hear back from them the following week but still haven't heard anything.
