Advice to Management
keep up the good work
I applied online. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at BlueShield of Northeastern New York in February 2016.
Completed lengthy online application an was contacted via email to set up a phone screen. Participated in phone screen (approx. 30mins) that covered a lengthy resume review, Q&A regarding skill set as it related to the position, and overview of company. The recruiter seemed to be closely following a script of questions and statements.
Following a positive interview, I received an email notification three days later stating "we are very excited that you are proceeding to the next stage of our recruitment process" that included an additional online form to complete. Upon completion of the form, I would be contacted to schedule an additional interview.
Ten days after I submitted the form, I had not heard from the recruitment team and followed up via email to ensure they received the requested additional materials. I did not hear back for an additional ten days (the recruiter providing illness as an excuse for the lapse in communication), and was told they were moving in another direction.
There seems to be a clear lack of organization in the hiring process and a disregard for the time investment on behalf of the candidate. In the time that passed since my first interaction with this company, I obtained offers from two other companies. Regardless of their feelings about my candidacy, the lack of communication left me with a negative impression. I would not consider applying to this agency again.
