Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Pros

- We got berated by the owner (Not Ben) of the company all the time! - The owner loves to sit you in his conference room in order to yell at you for hours on end. - He also loves to yell at you while

Cons

- Coworkers were great people! The few that remain at least!

Advice to Management

Keep up the great verbal abuse! It brought me right back to my youth with my dead beat dad spanking me until my toosh was black and blue.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BlueVolt (Portland, OR) in Jul 2022

    Interview

Pretty informal. They tried to schedule a second more formal interview but the one time they proposed did not work for me. I proposed several different times that did work for me but I never heard from them again despite multiple follow-up phone calls and emails.
