I worked at Bluemercury full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Constant education by the brands and crazy gratis! If your FT you get PTO/401k which is a huge plus. The prices for services are higher than most spas (i.e. Brows here are $25 where some places range from 7-15) so your commission scale can only go up and tips obviously. If you're patient enough to build a book there you can potentially make a nice paycheck, the bonus when you make your LA/M61 goals. Honestly you have to make the best of what you have don't expect things to be handed to you, work for it. Most complaints I see here are people are the ones that probably where on their way out and most like felt like they where wronged.

    Cons

The appointment system is outdated, paper is such as waste here, update your computer system, and when we call or do supply order please give the right amount

    Advice to Management

Please update your spa services. Clients get bored of the same stuff and move on to a different place. Give more spa incentives and contests again for just Estheticians. Listen to what your Estheticians need to help build revenue for the store so they can have a shot of making their monthly goals. Or better yet give spa monthly bonuses if they make their goals aside from the retail.

    Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Bluemercury (New York, NY) in September 2017.

    Interview

Very clean, nice atmosphere. Very helpful. The manager was the sweetest. The woman I interviewed with was very nice and explained in detail the job details and expectations. She reviewed salary as well.
