    I have been working at Bolt full-time (Less than a year)


    The fast pace of decision-making, relatively flat structure and the hyper-growth of the company create a lot of opportunities for impact and exposure. Management is highly responsive to feedback and a lot of decisions / accountability are delegated. There has been a heavy investment in building out a culture that prioritizes writing over speaking to ensure all voices are heard and that we aren't held back by tribal knowledge. Management values the team and pay, perks and career growth are all structured to ensure we are a highly competitive workplace. The team is strong and many members bring with them experience from leading tech companies (Google, Twitter, Facebook, Uber, AirBnB, etc), payments companies (Adyen, Braintree, Worldpay, Marqeta, etc), consulting firms and universities (Stanford, MIT, CMU, etc.).


    We have very ambitious goals and move at a quick pace so you need to be comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty to succeed here. Given the stage of the company, there is not a ton of formal training or onboarding so you need to be self-motivated and proactive to get fully up to speed.

    I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at Bolt (Salt Lake City, UT) in April 2019.


    Started with a phone call where we connected about my interests, experience, and what Bolt is as a company. Next was an on site in person interview where I was interviewed by two managers and a few team members so I could get a sense of what it was like here at bolt and they could get a sense of how I would fit with the team as a whole. When they chose to move forward they contacted my references via phone to get former coworkers and managers views on my work ethic and experience. Once that was completed they made the decision to job offer me a position. During the whole process they were in contact with you so you knew what was going on and what you could expect.
