Bonaventure Senior Living – Why Work For Us?

Bonaventure was formed over ten years ago with the observation that no one was offering the ideal combination of quality, experience and value. We continue to grow and succeed today based on our ability to offer people what they really want and to deliver Retirement Perfected.

Retirement Perfected is a term that you will commonly hear used here at Bonaventure.

It is how we define and deliver the services that we offer to our residents. Retirement Perfected encompasses the principles of dignity, choice and independence and is the guiding force behind the quality and services offered at our Communities.

At Bonaventure we value each individual resident as just that - an individual with preferences, likes and dislikes. This is part of what sets us apart from our competition. Just because residents choose to make a Bonaventure community their new home doesn’t mean that their dreams, goals, aspirations and ambitions have changed or should be ignored. We’re dedicated to giving residents a caring, lively, comfortable, affordable place to make their home. We want it to be filled with family, fun, and new experiences.

At Bonaventure, you’ll find more than just beautiful, spacious suites and well-cared-for communities. You’ll find a place that feels like home and friends who feel like family. The communities we build, amenities we provide, and programs we design are all inspired by our belief that you should enjoy retirement on your own terms.

The culture we’ve created here is one of respect for who you are and what matters to you—along with appreciation for your stories and accomplishments.

Our vision for the future is to be the premier senior living company in the Western United States. We seek to understand and respond to the evlving needs and desires of our residents while being an innovative company that leads the industry in change in Community design, resident services, employee satisfaction and efficiency.

Your health and happiness is our top priority. It’s the inspiration behind our focus on creating an exceptional lifestyle for all of our residents. However, we know that everyone’s idea of perfection is different and continues to change over time.

Our agility and flexibility as a team allow us to evolve as a company, make changes that are right for each location, and respond quickly to our residents’ needs and desires.

Every day we continue to create a culture which allows our Team Members to grow and advance their career and experience new opportunities. Our company values include respecting each other as individuals and treating each other fairly and professionally without discrimination.

We are Team Members committed to one another. Our Team Members are our key to success and our greatest asset. We create a supportive environment where Team Members have the opportunity to learn, be provided with continuing education and be mentored.

Our commitment to you is to promote an environment of teamwork. Teamwork is achieved when understanding, trust, communication and mutual respect exist between all of us.

Teamwork is achieved when each Team Member:

Yvonne D., RN, Woodland

I love the residents and families of Woodland! Our team members have a caring attitude and willingness to go the extra mile. Bonaventure is a supportive company and our community is always well kept!

Erica B., Maple Ridge

My favorite thing about working here would be the residents and the staff. They are friendly and welcoming. It’s more like I am coming to my second home, not my job. My favorite experience is going on trips with the residents and seeing how happy they are when we go out.

Cortney, Oak Park

I love coming to work every day. Our residents are very positive and love living here. All my co-workers are very helpful.

David E., Woodland

I have been a restaurant manager for over 15 years and love working for Bonaventure -- were the best! I have the freedom to be creative and it has inspired me to cook with a passion. I love the relationship I have with the residents and have never cooked so much in all my years as a manager. Thank You!

Santana B., Oak Park

I would have to say the best part of working here would have to be meeting, and spending time with, our wonderful residents. Listening to their stories while I assist them makes my day. They have the best stories and are always so excited to be able to share them.

Helen H., Riverton

I enjoy working with the elderly. I love to hear their stories. The residents are so willing to tell you about themselves if you just listen. I also have great appreciation for those men and women who gave so much for our country during World War II.

Bridget S., Park Vista

There is always something special going on at Park Vista. The staff is proud to work in the homes of such wonderful people as our residents and it makes us proud daily to see their smiling faces! If you have a loved one that needs a great place to live then give Park Vista a call today!!

 Kristapher Y., Oak Park

I find it very gratifying when I leave Oak Park each and every day knowing that I’ve made a difference. To be a part of enriching the lives of genuine people is very rewarding. During this time in their life a helping hand, listening ear or a warm hug could mean the difference between a rough or fulfilling day for each and every one of them. I appreciate the opportunity that Bonaventure has given to me to practice the meaning of "making a difference". I value my time and energy here.

Kris C., Maple Ridge

My favorite thing about working at Maple Ridge is the great residents, a good boss and a good shift. My favorite experience would be getting to know the residents, working with the cooks, serving "the ladies", and hearing the music which also makes the residents happy.

 Beth J., Seaport Landing

I grew up in Port Townsend, as did my mother and her parents. I love Port Townsend so it isn’t hard for me to tell people how much I love it here. There are several of our residents that I have known most of my life. There are others that know my family or someone else I know. I love all of our residents. They all feel like they are part of my family. It feels good to take care of people that can’t take care of themselves. I started as a housekeeper and am now the receptionist and love my job.

 Sarah F., Woodland

I appreciate the kindness everyday when I come in the mornings all the way up to when I leave for the day. Somebody is always asking, "How are you", "How is your day going". The residents are very appreciative of the work I do. The environment of Woodland is always warm and welcoming for residents and employees.

I have been working at Bonaventure Senior Living full-time (More than 3 years)

Management has created a very distinct culture in which if you work for Bonaventure and you share the same passion and commitment to their values you will thrive, succeed and advance. And if you do not want to advance and just want be a worker bee - that's ok - you are still expected to honor the mission and values of the company - What set's Bonaventure apart from other companies is that they honor and respect the worker bee employee just as equally as those employees that want to advance and take on leadership rolls. That is what makes Bonaventure an Awesome Company to work for..

The small con to working with a company like Bonaventure who is leading the way in the industry is keeping up with the pace - Both those employees that have taken up leadership rolls and the worker bees do take on a lot of hours while the company is seeking the right individuals to join the team..but I can state from personal experience - the company respects and honors that additional commitment thru appropriate rewards -

    Advice to Management

Stay the course, it is so exciting to see the development in training programs that fit the needs of an expanding company - only area I have of concern is the "response time" in regards to day to day operational needs - it is understandable though as there is a lot going on with the expansions.

    Average Interview

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Bonaventure Senior Living (Salem, OR) in June 2016.

While the interview process was on of the most thorough that I've ever been through, I felt that it demonstrated how much effort is put into finding the RIGHT employee for the job. I initially applied for whatever position was available, but after talking with me, trying to understand my needs and goals, the HR department was instrumental in selecting the position that I would be the best fit for.
