I have been working at Boulay, Heutmaker, Zibell & co. full-time (More than 5 years)
Supportive management to personal and professional development. Transparent communication from the top with opportunities to voice concerns. Non-intimating work culture with fun activities to get involved in (sports teams, book clubs, etc). Lots of opportunity to take your career in the direction YOU choose. Feeling acknowledged and recognized for the hard work you put in.
As a CPA firm, hours can be high at times (tax season, occasional summer peaks) but the firm does provides many events/opportunities to develop camaraderie and take a breather during this time.
Advice to Management
Continue to remain transparent with communication and support your employees as you do. Continue to provide high quality service to clients and provide opportunities to develop the skills necessary to do so.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boulay, Heutmaker, Zibell & co. (Minneapolis, MN).
It was really easy. They came to my college and we had a one on one interview after the accounting fair and then followed up at the Minneapolis accounting fair. Julie is a great gal and made everything very personable and relaxed.
