Business owners tell us that referrals are their best source of new customers, but they do not have a process to encourage more. They worry about day-to-day management and planning for growth, but do not want to be overburdened with complex marketing software.

We empathize with the challenges that local businesses face. Many of us are sons and daughters of local business owners, and many of us have experience building and growing companies ourselves.     I have been working at Broadly full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Broadly is a young company and is always changing- depending on what kind of person you are that could be a pro or a con. I personally love the pace that company moves because that means that we are growing and also keeps things interesting.

    Location is awesome! Super close to BART, lots of great restaurants, etc. Dogs in the office does make life a lot better too.

    The happy hours, snacks and catered lunch are cool- but the team is what makes this company great. The team is incredible, every department is full of amazing people who really care about Broadly's customers and each other. I have never worked with a better group of people- great at what they do and just great people overall.

    The VP of sales is the one of the best leaders I have had the chance to work with- transparent, open to feedback, intelligent, and has path that he keeps the team on... he is for the company and for the team. The team leaders are also very focused on the success of their team. I feel like both my team leader and department leader are clear about their expectations, understand the intensity of working in sales and go to bat for the team.

    Sales isn't easy, no matter where you work- but it does make it easier to come to work with fantastic people at a place that values not only hard work but also having fun. It's also a good feeling to hand your customers off to a great CS team that really cares and does their best to make sure that every customer does well using Broadly. OH and the best thing about sales at Broadly is that you're selling something that actually works and can really help business owners.

    Overall a great company, where we all (including leadership) do our best to navigate quick change and growing pains.

    Cons

    This can be a tough market- and I think most of the cons with this job have to do with that... the flip side of that is that it is also very rewarding to see a business that you brought onboard benefitting from the product and expanding and growing their business. If you're looking for a cushy inbound sales job, keep looking. If you're ready to work hard and stay focused, you can make good money here and have quite a bit of fun while you're doing it.

    Continue to strive for transparency and open communication. Build in more ongoing 1x1 feedback and coaching.

    I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Broadly in November 2017.

    Interview

    I could not say enough positive things about my interview experience with Broadly. I would not be going out on a limb to say that this was not only the best interview experience I've ever had, but quite possibly the best I'll ever have. From the very beginning, it was clear that everything you've read about Broadly on Glassdoor is true.

    Tiffany, who I had my initial call with one week after applying, instantly made me feel at ease, and I ended up talking with her for nearly an hour in what was more like a friendly, honest, and open discussion than anything. She was a self-described open book who truly made me feel like I could be myself in the interview, and set very clear expectations for the interview process moving forward and the company's refusal to drag it out longer than necessary. I had a second call the very next day with John, a senior member of the success team, and it was more of the exact same thing. It was readily evident upon learning more about the position and the company and speaking with Tiffany and John that the people who work there genuinely enjoy what they do.

    The same day, I offered the opportunity to meet four other members of the success team the following week for an in-person interview, the last step of the process. I was told that the process would be two hours long, giving you 30 minutes to speak individually with each interviewer, followed by a happy hour that would give you the opportunity to meet with the rest of the team in a casual setting (yes, really.)

    I had to make the hard to decision the day before the interview to opt out of continuing with the final step of the interview process, as I had unexpectedly been offered another role within my current company, which I ended up accepting. However, I know that in different circumstances, I would have immediately jumped at the opportunity to work alongside the Broadly family if offered.
