Our founding team:
Dustin DeVan
Founder & CEO
An avid entrepreneur and engineer, Dustin spent six years on the general contractor side before founding BuildingConnected. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautical Science from the University of California, Davis, and he has worked for some of the largest construction companies in the country including Bechtel, Rudolph & Sletten, and XL Construction.
Jesse Pedersen
Founder & CTO
A software engineer with a keen eye for design, Jesse lends his vast technical background and meticulous attention to detail to BuildingConnected. He gleans a decade of experience as a web developer, engineer and technical co-founder for companies such as IronKey, 8x8, and Revvim.
We are a growing team committed to crafting the best product our customers have ever seen. We value communication, encourage frequent collaboration, and are committed to building beautiful, modern, and user-friendly software.

Pros
The Exec team is down-to-earth and approachable. The leaders here really do care about the happiness of employees and understand that when employees are happy customers are taken care of. The culture is supportive, fun and empowering. People are encouraged to bring their full selves to work, to be authentic and engaged. There are limitless opportunities for growth!
Cons
We are growing rapidly and working to scale, and cannot hire fast enough but that's a good problem! Typical growing pains of a rocketship startup but you are surrounded by an empathetic and supportive team that will help you out.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you are doing, you have a winning business and you are hiring phenomenal people. Keep the people first and everything else will fall into place.
Application
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at BuildingConnected (San Francisco, CA) in April 2017.
Interview
Phone call with the recruiter and then the hiring manager. Afterwards I had a day of interviews at the office. I had 45 minutes to complete an assignment and present it to management.
