I worked at Burst Media full-time
Great people to work with. Everyone's a team player and they know how to have fun despite a rigorous work schedule. The job was rewarding only to those who like problem solving. Sales team was great, but definitely got a bit relaxed at times when they probably should have been hustling more. Office atmosphere was fine, although a bit sterile and white on the inside. Company parties were always fun.
Once the company was bought out by blinkx it all went down hill. bonuses vanished along with the Burst culture everyone fought so hard to hold onto. Not much room to grow and could be stingy with raises.
Advice to Management
Listen to your workforce more and communicate company goals and direction better. Don't waste good talent because you're too caught up in the company's identity crisis.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Burst Media (Burlington, MA) in January 2012.
Pleasant phone interview. Took .net was not ready, they needed to fix it. Candidate fixed it for them. After a grueling 5 hour interview and traveling from Quincy to Burlington with a broken leg, they decided not to hire me or anyone else. They were just window shopping. Recruiters beware! I am really shocked by this as burst HAD an excellent reputation. Now they just come off to me as unprofessional.
