Businessolver – Why Work With Us?

undefinedA BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION COMPANY DEDICATED TO FINDING A BETTER WAY

Wind your clock back to 1998 and recall a world filled with highly manual, paper-driven benefits processes. Hopefully that doesn’t send our HR partners into cold sweats. But it was in that environment that Businessolver opened its doors to address the day-to-day challenges of human resources and safety and risk management.

Even then, our business was focused on looking for a better way. By 2000, Benefitsolver — benefits administration technology owned and developed by Businessolver — was expanded to support Web-based benefits enrollment and administration. Our first implementation was for an 8,000-employee company. Since then, we’ve helped millions of employees educate themselves and enroll online.

A CULTURE OF LEADING THE WAY

At Businessolver, we see things differently — including our approach to creating an intentional culture. We believe that what you see is what you get. The people you see in the photos on our website are actual Businessolver employees — not models. We want you to see the real us, because the real us is who you are going to get.

The real us works each day to live out what we call “The Businessolver Way.” What does that mean? It means we have an intentional guide for how we operate that defines our core values, core business, operating principles, safe environment, and common language. We spend each day training and applying The Businessolver Way to continue to grow and delight.

ONE MISSION, ONE GOAL

Here at Businessolver, our mission is simple: Grow our business, delight our clients. It’s with that core mission in mind that we frame our partnership three ways: Develop, Depend, and Delight.

DEVELOP

By aiming to grow, we’re not talking about the bottom line. It means we’re expanding Benefitsolver, our market-changing technology platform, and adding new functionality every week. Our innovative process includes collaboration with clients, consultants, and our own employees using Agile software-development methods.

DEPEND

Your employees trust you to manage their private information, and that relationship is central to the success of any HR and benefits team. We understand that relationship at its very heart and in our very core. We take care every day to help you earn that trust — and earn your trust the same way. You can depend on Businessolver to accurately manage and exchange data and to take the necessary precautions to protect it. That’s why we invest so much in physical security, technical security audits, financial audits, and in-house security, legal, and compliance expertise.

DELIGHT

Delight is at the heart of every interaction, every innovation, every process, and every decision at Businessolver. This includes everyone from our internal clients who work hard every day to improve and implement our platform to the clients we serve with our benefits solution. And each week we take stock of delight by measuring not only our clients’ evaluation of our partnership, but each employee’s as well. Learn more about our commitment to delight.

OUR VISION

We see philanthropy differently, with intention and purpose. We envision a healthy, well-educated world where community matters.

THE BUSINESSOLVER FOUNDATION

At Businessolver, we’re committed to business with a purpose. That means ensuring the right products, services and support are there for our customers at the right time. It also means extending that sense of purpose to the communities in which we live and work. In that spirit, we launched the Businessolver Foundation, our company’s philanthropic extension focused on creating a healthy, well-educated world where community matters. Through investments and volunteerism, the Foundation supports local and national organizations dedicated to the betterment of health, education and community.

BUSINESSOLVER SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Businessolver has a Scholarship Fund that awards grants to Businessolver employee dependents who are enrolling in college or a trade program. Our mission is twofold, to invest in our employee’s children’s futures, and to help ease the financial burden associated with education post high school.

I have been working at Businessolver full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Businessolver is a place where you can continually engage with your colleagues, which are the best in the industry, and continually learn and grow. I'm closing in on my fourth year at Businessolver and I can tell you that over the years there has been three constants: relationships, collaboration, and a drive to be the best in the industry. It's a challenging place, and it's also very rewarding when you see your leaders show how much they care about individuals. If you want to stand still in your career, it's not the place for you. If you want to have an exciting ride in a dynamic industry, it's the place to be. There is a reason we are called Solvers.

    Cons

Like all companies you can never communicate enough. There are communication gaps sometimes. That being said, Businessolver continues to work hard to communicate corporate goals, team and individual goals and initiatives. Keep working it.

    Advice to Management

Keep driving competent leadership by finding industry experts outside and developing leaders inside the organization. Continue access to the top leaders in the company.

I applied online. I interviewed at Businessolver (Des Moines, IA) in December 2016.

    Interview

Had a video interview with prerecorded questions. Followed by two in person interviews with HR and memebers of the team. Had to take an online personality test as well. Was pretty easy.
